Today’s tour will start downtown with our first stop being for coffee. Once fueled up we will had North to the Valley and Auke Bay. Stopping for lunch/snacks at my house, we’ll continue the day by heading North to “out the road”.
Downtown Stops:
- Heritage Coffee, Downtown
- A few favorite shops if interested
- Drive by of State Capitol Building and Governors’ Mansion
- Gold Creek Flume Trail
- Juneau Whale Statue and Boardwalk
- DIPAC Fish Hatchery
Valley Stops:
- Stop at Brotherhood Bridge for iconic view of Fireweed Fields with glacier background (if weather cooperates).
- Drive down center of valley to show preparations for annual glacier outburst flood (could happen any day now)
- Mendenhall Glacier Area

Back Downtown:
- For dinner you could go to Tracey’s Crab Shack (most King this year is not local but Russian crab… word on the street. I personally would recommend Deck Hand Dave’s… cheaper and great food/drink. Next to Dave’s is also my favorite local brewery, Devil’s Club Brewery.
